DAY 1 – NEIVA, VILLAVIEJA, TATACOA DESERT

Early in the morning, private transfer from your hotel in Bogotá to the airport for your direct flight to Neiva (flight time: approximately 1 hour).

Private transfer to the nice hotel next to the Tatacoa Desert where you’ll spend the night (travel time: approx. 50 minutes).

In the afternoon, private tour in the Tatacoa Desert with your driver-guide. Discover the famous Red and Gray Deserts, characterized by their unique landscapes, ocher and gray colors, canyons and impressive geological formations.

First, visit the Gray Desert, including the Valle de los Deseos and the path of “Los Hoyos” (about 40 minutes walk).

Afterwards, continue to the Red Desert, where the ocher colors dominate the landscape made of canyons and particular geological formations, including the Laberintos del Cuzco, La Torre and Los Estoraques.

In the evening, transfer to the Astronomical Observatory. Thanks to its privileged geographical position near the Earth’s Equator and the excellent climatic conditions, with very little visual and hearing pollution, this is a truly special place to observe the night sky.

At the Astronomical Observatory, you can first learn more about astronomy and then observe the wonderful starry sky (approximately 1.5 hour of activity).

At the end of the activity, return to the hotel.

DAY 2 – VILLAVIEJA, NEIVA, BOGOTÁ

After breakfast enjoy a private tour of Villavieja with your driver-guide. Among the activities included: visit to the Paleontological Museum, visit to El Totumo Handicraft Museum, with local handicrafts made from the fruit of the totumo tree, and a visit to the rice fields, where you may have the opportunity to observe birds.

Afterwards, enjoy a boat ride on the Magdalena River, with sightseeing of Palo de las Iguanas and Turtle Beach (approx. 40 minutes).

After the boat ride, private transfer to Neiva airport (travel time: approximately 50 minutes). Direct flight to Bogotá (flight time: approximately 1 hour).

Private transfer to your hotel in Bogotá (accommodation in Bogotá not included).
