Quebrada las Gachas (Santander)
Guadalupe is (about 5,5 hours from Bogotá) a typical colonial style village with a picturesque church in the main square and with an unadulterated Colombian atmosphere. Situated 2-3 kms from the village is a real gem – Quebrada las Gachas – the reddish colored river that is the little sibling of Cano Cristales – however this place is still unknown to many people. You can cross the reddish river with the help of a local guide or even splash around in one of the nature-made “jacuzzi”. The Quebrada las Gachas tour is an unbelievable experience. Along the way, you can spot fruit trees and bushes native to the slopes of the Andes such as banana, lulo and avocado.
Tip: It is better to stay 1 night in Guadalupe so the tour is more comfortable.
