ITINERARY
This unforgettable day starts with a private pick you up directly at your hotel in Bogotá. We will have an approximately 2 hours drive to Santandercito, a lovely small town located at 1,620 m above the sea level (5,315 ft) with an average climate between 17ºC and 22ºC (62F – 72F). Enjoy the amazing landscapes of this region on the way. Our first stop is at the picturesque town square of Santandercito. Visit the Church of Our Lady of Carmen, and get a first introduction about one of the most prominent Colombian emblems: “el Café”, coffee.
A local expert will take you to the “finca” (coffee farm) where you will enter into the exciting world of Colombian coffee growing. Due to its geographical location, climate, and height above sea level, the farm has one of the widest offers in terms of flora and fauna: 430 adult trees of 22 native species in a forest which is a refuge for at least 80 bird species among homebodies and migratory birds. Plus, the responsible use of soils allows the subsistence of an incalculable number of other different species.
Enjoy an interactive guided circuit through the crops within the indigenous ancestral native forest and live a beautiful, clean and natural rural experience accompanied by the twittering of the birds and the sound of the wind through the trees in the background.
Learn about all the processes and activities necessary to obtain the best coffee in the world (Colombian coffee,) and about the owners’ philosophy of environmental responsibility and organic production to promote the conservation and preservation of the environment in search of a better world.
During your visit, you have the chance to enjoy the traditional lunch of coffee farm workers (included) and of course, a delicious cup of coffee.
Before you arrive back to Bogotá, enjoy a quick stop to admire one of the most renowned Colombian natural wonders, the Tequendama Waterfall. Get a breathtaking view of the 132 m (433 ft) high waterfall.
